5 Years Under PR
The good, the bad and the ugly under PR 5 years rule. This is from my personal experience of being a rakyat in Selangor.
The Good - I did not have to pay for my water bills. This basic necessity is given free to me. In fact in my last bill there is a credit of RM2 something. Does this make a difference if I have to pay for water bills? In a way, it is good to get something free sometimes but it doesn't make a difference to me since my water bill is low around RM6 a month. In 5 years I have save RM360.
The drains in front of my house were cleaned every fortnight. But this only happened on the first year only. After that nobody comes and clear the drains. But then again there's not much rubbish in them since My family do not throw rubbish everywhere.
The Bad - The roads have not been resurfaced properly. As I have said in my previous blogs....the government before did a very good job in maintaining the roads. The road leading to Jelebu from Hulu Langat was terrible. Grasses have encroahed the roads surfaces. The minute you reached the N9 border, you will find that the roads are in better condition.
Even when they resurface the roads, it was not done properly. The potholes still exist.
The Ugly - My house was robbed...not only my house, more than 3 houses in my taman were buglarised. None of us were at home at those times. The state government should work together with the police to ensure the safety of the people and their properties. A snatch thief took my daughter's money and handphone and pushed her to the ground. She suffered from bruises all over her body.
The coruptions still happens. Someone close to me was asked to make a different invoice for the local government for certain services. Mind you , this person in under PR. So much talk about anticorruption but the reality is corruption still happens.
Do I suffer under PR ? The answer is no. Do I feel there is a difference between BN and PR rule? So far the answer is still no. Do PR deserve another 5 years? 5 years is a very long time to be given to any party to govern Selangor. With so much controversies like selling land for low cost properties, UNISEL problem, Talamgate, Yapeim land, sand mining too mention a few, I don't think that PR has the expertise of governing a state. It is still okay if the state is in status quo as before but too much damage has been done, too much promises has not been kept, too much land and properties have been sold.
They do not deserved a second chance.
