Egypt
What happened in Egypt should never had happened. Hundreds of lives were lost. Innocent civilians were killed outright by the army. Looks like civil war is going to happen soon in Egypt. All because of political differences. I did write before in one of my blogs that it is the politicians who are the terrorists...how true..it happened in Egypt in the name of the army.
Should Malaysia cut the diplomatic ties with the present government? What will happen to the thousands of Malaysian students if we cut the diplomatic ties with Egypt? Where are they going to turn to for help? What will happen to their studies? Will they be able to continue their studies elsewhere if the worst is to happen? Can Malaysian universities absorb thousands of extra students?
It is easier to cut ties but the implications of cutting the ties should be looked into seriously. Once we sever the ties can we expect Egypt to accept us again when everything is well once again? Does Turkey cut ties with Egypt due to this bloodshed? I certainly condemn the army for doing this to the civilians. That's all that I can do...to condemn ..but the Egyptians have to rise again for their country. There's nothing much the foreigners can do to help them except to sympathise with them. Those who speak so loudly against Malaysian government for not making a stand, would you be willing to carry guns for the Egyptians? I salute you if the answer is yes!
Egypt has undergone this turmoil before , I think. Those days during Anwar Sadat. I am not familiar with the Egyptian history. The Egyptians will rise again for their country. It will take time and ....blood.
