Apa Kaitan Tidak Bayar Saman Dengan Kemalangan - Harakah
I am trying to make sense what was written in the Harakah today. You see I am one of those who read everything available in the medias. The writer wrote that the police are trying to make life difficult for Malaysians by asking these (1.7 million) blacklisted drivers to pay their summons. Not paying their summons have no connection with the accidents.
I beg to differ. Those who do not pay their summons are wrongdoers where traffic problems were concerned. I bet that these drivers are repeated offenders. To make them pay the summons otherwise they will be barred from driving is the only thing that make sense. When it hurts your pockets you will think hundred times before you commit a traffic offense. Please think again before saying that the government is making life difficult for them. It is they who make life difficult for themselves. If you let these offenders on the road, who knows how many lives will be hurt by them? Those who lost their parents, children, siblings and limbs because of their recklessness.
We should be pitying the victims instead of traffic offenders. Let the police do their job. Let the offenders pay for their crimes. To lose ones right to drive on the road is nothing compared to the sufferings inflicted by accidents victims caused by them. If hukum islam is taken into consideration, if these drivers were the cause of someone losing their their body parts, these victims can ask for the body parts of the offenders to be cut/remove. So losing their right to drive is no punishment at all . It is only an inconvenience .
