My notebook decided to have a long extended holidays that's why I have not written for sometime. The last few days have been very hectic to me. Normally I try to stay from writing on personal things but today I decided to do otherwise. My dad is very very sick. He's in the hospital now fighting for his life.... He was first brought into the resuscitation unit because he was unconcious. His lungs were infected due to backflow of vomit. The doctor suspected that he had a mild stroke. Alhamdulillah he was not after the CT scan. He had internal bleeding and his blood refused to clot. Alhamdulillah he responded well to the antibiotics.
One thing lead to another... there's blood in his urine, his kidneys were inflammed. And just now my brother said he's having fever again. My dad is in the highly dependency unit, where there's cctv, doctors and nurses 24/7. The doctors asked us whether we want to resuscitate him if his heart fails. We are talking about my dad, who bathed me until I was 10 years old. The one who never failed to write when I was in the boarding school. The one who put a mattress next to the bed since I had the habit of falling off the bed in the middle of the night. The one with my mom who prayed three days and three nights when I almost died giving birth to my first child.
They never told me but I found out from my mom's best friend.
What am I doing here at home when my dad is in the hospital? My youngest son is having a high fever. For the last two days his older sister was looking after him while I was in the hospital. I am home since I have to make sure that he's taking proper meal after his fever subsides. And I know my dad wants me to stay at home today to look after his grandson. If I were to be by his side he would have chased me out of the room to go home to be with my son. That's my dad. Please pray for him.
